Ostirion-Aewen （meaning ＂Fort of Birds＂ in Sindarin） is a fortress situated north of Dol-Amroth‚ acting as a bastion of defense for the Swan City․ Though closer to Edhellond to the north-east of Dol-Amroth‚ it is within two leagues of the great city of Prince Imrahil （six to seven miles） and is designed to be the first obstacle for enemies attacking Dol-Amroth from the north․ With a small garrison‚ Ostirion-Aewen is renowned for it's endurance against any enemy assault‚ and is well-provisioned with both water （from wells） and a supply of foodstuffs to last well into the weeks or few months to buy time for the Swan City․
