The Arico DH2 was a biplane created during the first world War․ It's designer Geoffrey de Havilland‚ designed it based off of his Arico DH1․ The Arico DH2 is a pusher biplane configuration‚ meaning the aircraft's engine was placed behind the pilot․ This allowed for the machine gun to be mounted on the front of the aircraft before the British invented their own piston firing system․ The Arico DH2 was first introduced in July of 1915 and officially retired as a training aircraft in 1918․
